Kiln Update . . .

Well, after speaking with my glass supplier, Lily, it appears I may not have to wait as long for my new kiln as I originally anticipated. At this stage, it looks like it may be ready to go in 3-4 weeks. If that is the case, then I anticipate I'll have some new beads ready for sale in about 4-5 weeks. I'm still not exactly thrilled at the thought of having to wait that long, but it could be worse. Lily told me that the company that is supplying my kiln are swamped with orders at the moment, and if I had ordered it next week, then I probably would have had to wait at least 9 weeks for it be delivered!

Of course, no matter how long it takes, I still have to cough up about $1900 for it. Since I don't have that sort of money sitting around, I've had to borrow the money off my Mum. I looked into having my old kiln repaired, and DH Russ called the guy I bought it off. Unfortunately, the man who made my kiln 5 years ago passed away a few months ago, and as he was a sole trader, his business has been dissolved.. so, unless I could find some other company to repair it, the new kiln was really the only option at this stage. DH Russ is taking the kiln to his workplace and asking a few of the electricians to take a look at it - those electronic aircraft engineer guys are pretty good with that sort of stuff, so.. you never know, they may be able to repair it for me.

So, that's what's happening at the moment. If you're interested in placing custom orders, and don't mind waiting, I'm still taking orders. I have a few orders on hold for the moment, but I'm always happy to add you to the list.

That's about it outta me for the moment.. I'll be back again in a few days' time. Oh, and for my friends in the USA, I hope you have a happy 4th July!
